The better the quality of your reference photo, the happier you will be with the end result. Lighting, clarity, positioning, and distance are important considerations for a portrait that stands the test of time. For a portrait you’ll cherish, follow these guidelines:

1. Focus:  Choose a photo that offers a clean, clear, and close-up representation of your pet’s face. The entire face should be in focus and large enough to see well.

2. Angle: Be at eye level with your pet, avoid images looking down on or up at your pet’s face.

3. Lighting: Avoid photos with dark shadows. The artist needs to be able to see the details within any darker parts of the face. If you can, photograph your pet outdoors in sunlight. If you’re taking a photo indoors, turn on the lights.

Keep in mind that professional photographs are not suitable for this purpose due to copyright protection. You should be the photographer.

As an artist committed to delivering exceptional quality work, I kindly request that you allow me a sufficient timeline of approximately 2-6 weeks to complete your piece. Factors such as the size and intricacy of the artwork, as well as any concurrent full-time contract jobs, can affect the time required to create a piece that fully captures the essence of your beloved pet. Your patience and understanding during this period is greatly appreciated, as I strive to deliver a product that meets and exceeds your expectations.

I exclusively utilize top-of-the-line, artist-grade watercolor materials that I purchased from renowned brands like Daniel Smith, Mission Gold, M. Graham, Schmincke, and Winsor and Newton. Once each artwork is complete, I meticulously spray a layer of Krylon UV-Resistant Clear Gloss to seal and preserve the vibrancy of its colors, reducing the risk of any potential fading over time

Certainly. A draft version of the portrait will be shared with you via email, providing an opportunity for you to review and suggest any revisions before the final color is applied. If you would like to receive progress photos during the creation process, please do not hesitate to request them. It is important to note that once the final color is applied, modifications will not be accepted. Alternatively, if you prefer to receive the portrait as a surprise, you may make that request as well.
